Le Bouyssou at Loupiac (previously a rural farm, dating from the 1840’s) is situated on the border of the Aveyron and Lot departments, in the south of France, which boast some of the most spectacular scenery and sites of interest in the whole of the country. To all, the area reveals itself to be one of the best kept secrets, which does not fail to surprise and delight.

The Aveyron itself can offer its visitors ten of the ‘Most Beautiful Villages in France’, the highest concentration of any department of the country. The landscape is breathtaking and wildly varied (mountains, gorges, rolling ‘causses’, medieval villages, woodland abundant with the fruits of nature which find their way into the regions famous and satisfying cuisine – foie gras, confit de canard, aligot, tripoux...).

La Bergerie is a stone barn conversion situated in the tranquil grounds of Le Bouyssou 1 km from the pretty village of Loupiac and is completely surrounded by fields, woodland and beautiful valley vistas. Completed in 2008 to a very high standard, La Bergerie offers spacious quality accommodation, beautiful interiors, private terraces and gardens with a large swimming pool. This luxury gite for 6 people is available to rent throughout the year for self catering holidays, short breaks and bed and breakfast (see 'Prices and Rates' page for full details). La Bergerie is ideally situated between delightful 13c bastide town of Villefranche de Rougergue and Figeac (which has been heralded as ‘the finest small town in France’) it is the perfect base for a French holiday. You will experience a true taste of rural France, rich in medieval history, with long hot summers and delightful springs and autumns, a gem in the ring of a glorious area.

The French have an expression, ‘se ressourcer’, which has no equivalent in the English language but refers to a holiday which ‘transports one to something authentic and pure and restores one’s physical and spiritual strength’. This term encapsulates the ethos behind the experience that we offer visitors here at La Bergerie au Bouyssou.
